The lake, Ounasjärvi, with its abundance in fish, is a delight for the recreational fisherman. Villa Mäntyniemi is located a mere 3 km distance outside Hetta Village, which is the center of the vast Enontekiö community, home to some 800 residents. Hetta is a traditional Lapp village where you can get acquainted with the original Sami culture, the Lappish way of life, and enjoy a wealth of outdoor activities.
Norway and the Village of Kautokeino is an hour’s drive and Sweden with the Village of Karesuando half an hour’s drive from Villa Mäntyniemi. Furthermore, Villa Mäntyniemi is a convenient base for an excursion to the North Cape which is a 6 hour drive from Hetta Village.
Villa Mäntyniemi is a fully-equipped vacation home for year-round enjoyment for 1 – 7 persons. The 65 m2 (700 sq.ft) chalet has a spacious living area and an open kitchen, one bedroom downstairs as well as a sauna with shower and wc, and one room upstairs which functions as a lounge area or a bedroom. The living room features a high ceiling and large windows with a splendid view over the lake. The wide outdoor terrace is perfect for enjoying the surrounding landscape. The ample grounds around the villa secure your privacy and offer a calm natural oasis for your superb holiday.

Living room with a flat screen TV, DVD-player, CD-player with radio, and a soapstone fireplace for cozy warmth and atmosphere. Sauna with electric heater, shower & wc, hairdryer. One bedroom with a double bed. The room upstairs has one single bed and a sofa which turns down to a bed for two persons, and a small flat-screen TV.
The Lakeshore Sauna is a traditional Finnish sauna, offering guests the opportunity for a genuine summertime experience with its wood-burning heater. Water is fetched from the lake and is heated in its own boiler which is attached to the sauna stove. It’s pure enjoyment to take a dip in the cool waters of the lake and sip refreshing drinks in the fireplace lounge during your sauna experience. (The lounge is spacious enough to use as a sleeping room for two persons.)
The Mäntyniemi Kota is a wooden hut where you can build an open fire, roast sausages – another genuine Finnish pastime – or prepare a barbeque dinner. How about an afternoon nap on the reindeer skins? Daytime or evening, moments spent around the fire in good company in Mäntyniemi Kota will crown your active day in the outdoors. The Summer Kitchen is where you will want to prepare your freshly caught fish – either glowfrying on open fire or smoking it in the smoker provided. Try roasting reindeer meat on skewers – it’s delicious!
The Pier is nearly 10 meters long – for sunbathing, swimming and enjoying the views. The Terhi Boat is at your free disposal for summertime rowing trips and fishing on the lake. Remember safety while boating and wear the floating devices provided.
